Research N Reports has added a new research report, titled “Specialty Fertilizers Market by Type (Water Soluble Fertilizers, Slow & Controlled Released Fertilizers, Micronutrient & Secondary Nutrient Fertilizers, Bio-Stimulant Fertilizers, Stabilized Fertilizers); by Crop Type (Cereals & Oilseeds, Fruits & Vegetables, Turfs & Ornamentals, Others); by Product Type (Soil Conditioner {Organic Conditioners, Inorganic Conditioners}, Soil Wetting Agent {Liquid, Granular Type}); by Regions (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC), Middle East & Africa and Latin America) – Global Insights, Growth, Size, Comparative Analysis, Trends and Forecast, 2017-2025”

Specialty fertilizers are granulated fertilizers which supply nutrients to the soil gradually. The measured nutrient uptake by plants can be achieved by usually modifying the fertilizer products through chemical techniques which reduces their solubility, or by physical methods such as coating encapsulation. These fertilizers can be categorized into three general classifications, such as, slow-release fertilizers where release rates are difficult to estimate, controlled-release fertilizers where release rates are predictable, and fertilizers associated with inhibitors of enzymatic processes. Slow-release fertilizers release their nutrients at a less predictable rate and depend on other aspects of their formulations to release nutrients. The nutrients are available in a form that is not available to plants. They are converted by microorganisms present in the soil into nutrients which can be utilized by plants. Higher soil temperature causes the fertilizer to release nutrients more quickly. In terms of revenue, the Global Specialty Fertilizers Market was valued at US$ 15.19 Bn in 2016 and is expected to reach US$ 27.94 Bn by 2025, expanding at a CAGR of 7.2% from 2017 to 2025.

The Global Specialty Fertilizers Market is enhanced by factors such as:

? Limited availability of arable land.
? Increasing demand for improved fertilizing methods.
? Adoption of precision farming.

Among type-wise segments, the water soluble fertilizers segment is anticipated as the largest segment. Water-soluble fertilizers are formulas that are dissolved in water and applied to plants at the base or foliage throughout the growing season. These fertilizers can also be applied more frequently than granular fertilizers. Being readily soluble in water, Water soluble fertilizers (WSF) achieve this by releasing essential plant nutrients at the root zone from where they are readily absorbed and used elsewhere in the plant system.

Among crop type segments, the turf & ornamentals segment is expected to dominate the Global Specialty Fertilizers Market during the forecast period. Turf & Ornamentals promote better root growth & development and optimize crop yield potential. They likewise facilitate nutrient uptake by plants, helping to improve their performance, quality and yield.
From product type segments, the soil wetting agent segment accounted for the largest market share in the preceding years and it is further expected to endure its dominance throughout the study period. The segment is further bifurcated into liquid and granular type soil wetting agent.

From the geographies studied in the report, North America is the largest market accounting for a majority of the global demand, followed by Asia Pacific and Western Europe. Further, emerging economies in Asia Pacific are anticipated to be the fastest growing markets for specialty fertilizers. Consumption of specialty fertilizers in India is still at a nascent stage. The expansion of Indian economy and increased awareness about the benefits of specialty fertilizers is estimated to raise the demand for the global market. In addition, environmental concerns are expected to further drive the demand, especially in Asia Pacific and North America. Countries in Eastern Europe and the Middle East are expected to experience moderate market growth.

Some of the significant players functioning in the Global Specialty Fertilizers Market include PotashCorp, the Mosaic Company, EuroChem, CF Industries, Agrium Inc., Israel Chemicals Limited, and so on. Few of the other prominent players are Coromandel International Limited, Haifa Chemicals ltd., Sinochem Corporation, Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A., Tessenderlo Group, among others.
