An airborne early warning radar system is an airborne radar picket system designed to detect aircrafts, ships and vehicles at long ranges and perform command and control of the combat space in an air engagement by guiding fighter and attack aircraft strikes. AEW&C units are also used to carry out surveillance, including over ground targets and frequently perform C2BM (command and control, battle management) functions similar to an Air Traffic Controller given military command over other forces. Moreover, when used at altitudes, the radar on the aircraft allows the operators to detect and track targets, likewise distinguish between friendly and hostile aircrafts much farther away than a similar ground based radar. Like a ground based radar, it can be identified by opposing forces, however due to its mobility, it is much less vulnerable to counter-attack. In terms of revenue, the Global Airborne Early Warning Radar Market was valued at US$ 962.98 Mn in 2016 and is expected to reach US$ 1330.82 Mn by 2025, expanding at a CAGR of 3.7% from 2017 to 2025.

The Global Airborne Early Warning Radar Market is enhanced by factors such as:
• Increasing demand for radar systems.
• Continuously growing interest and investment in military.
On the basis of types, the Global Airborne Early Warning Radar Market is segmented into air-interception radar, bombing radar, navigation radar and others. The air-interception radar segment is anticipated to be the largest market in the forecast period. These radar are primarily used by Royal Air Force (RAF) and Fleet Air Arm night fighters and interceptors for locating and tracking other aircrafts. Although most AI radars could also be used in a number of secondary roles as well.

Based on application, the Global Airborne Early Warning Radar Market is classified into attack, defense and others. Of these applications, the defense segment will hold the most attractive market share during the forecast period. As of now, this segment witnesses the largest market.

Geographically, the Global Airborne Early Warning Radar Market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, and Latin America.
